What The Cluck? Friendly Chicken Spotted Roaming Around Portage
You just never know what you're going to find when you log onto Reddit for the day. From bananas being nailed to light posts (which you can read about below) to...this. There's always something odd going on in the Kalamazoo area.
Today, the post that caught my attention was one that asked, "someone lose a chicken?"
The original poster, u/jbud, went on to say that,
This one was very comfortable around humans. I looked and saw her ten feet behind me, then turned back around to watch my son's archery class and felt this pecking at my pocket and there she was, right next to me, looking for feed.
This chicken was spotted Schrier Park in Portage at about 10:30 in the morning on Wednesday 7/28.
Since the chicken seemed to feel no hesitation when walking up to a human, it would make sense that she may belong to someone close by. The comments, however, didn't really help when it came to finding the potential owner:

Those comments made me laugh, sure...but not exactly helpful when it comes to solving the mystery of this friendly, roaming chicken.
Another commenter attempted to find the chicken but, by the time they got to the park, she had disappeared. Hopefully, she made her way back home. But, just in case she didn't, if you're in Portage be on the lookout for a friendly chicken roaming the parks.
Truly, the Kalamazoo Reddit thread never disappoints. I can't wait to see what I discover next!
