Portage, Michigan is kind of like Kalamazoo’s little brother. Home to the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport, the sky is the limit for this small city, which is also home to the Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum. Not only focusing on the sky, it’s also the site of Pfizer’s largest manufacturing facility, which most recently created the Covid-19 Vaccine.
At the heart of Portage is Westnedge Avenue, which runs North through Kalamazoo and can lead you to Crossroads Mall and also hundreds of restaurants to grab a bite to eat. You can also get a taste for adventure by walking the Celery Flats, going for a skate at the Millennium Park Ice Rink, or catching a movie at Celebration Cinema.
Portage is definitely a great place to bring the family and have some fun, as the Airway Fun Center gives you the chance to play games, bowl, putt-putt golf and let the kids burn some energy on the ropes course. Portage definitely has no shortage of things to do.
