Ohio is cutting taxes on back-to-school items this weekend. That means shoppers won’t pay taxes on school supplies and certain clothing items.

There’s a surprising item on the state’s list of tax-free clothing items: Diapers.

Parents will be pleased to know that both cloth and disposable diapers will be tax exempt Friday through Sunday, according to Ohio’s sales tax website.

Travelling from the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek areas, the absolute closest retail location might be the Village Market or Dollar General in Pioneer - a 1 hour and 14 minute drive from Battle Creek. The closest Ohio Walmart stores are in Bryan and Wauseon.

And in case you're wondering, no, Michigan is not one of the 16 states that offers a tax holiday for back to school shopping.
