A small town Michigan police chief slipped on ice and shot himself in the foot.  Ouch!

A Carlton, Michigan police chief was investigating a break in at a residence in the small village when he slipped on ice and his gun discharged Thursday.  Luckily the shot went right through his foot according to officer.com,

Carleton Village President Larry Buckingham told the Monroe News that police chief Roy Johnson suffered a minor gunshot wound and was taken to the University of Michigan Medical Center. The gunshot was described as a "through and through."

I'm sure once this Police Chief Roy Johnson recovers from this very painful foot wound he's going to get the "it's merely a flesh wound" joke a lot around the department.  We're all glad he's ok.
