The Kalamazoo Downtown Music Jam invites the community to come jam with the musicians TONIGHT from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on the front steps of Western Michigan University’s Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine!

What: The Kalamazoo Downtown Music Jam

When: TONIGHT August, 18th at 5:30 p.m.

"The Downtown Music Jams have been a great addition to our community,” says Deborah Droppers of the Kalamazoo Experiential Learning Center. “Not only do they provide an avenue for local artists to gain greater connections in the Kalamazoo music scene, but they allow us to promote unusual spaces for the use of events.”

The free event brings musicians of greater Kalamazoo together with their instruments to jam out and have a good time. Tonight's Jam will be hosted by Kalamazoo’s very own, Meghan Dooley. Performers include: Megan Dooley, Lisa Moaiery, T-Rex, Powell McCoy, Bride of Fleckenstein, HOPE, BenJammin & Analisa, Pierre Schuman, The Leaf Experience, and Saxsquatch & Bridge Band.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., musicians will perform 10-minute sets followed by Open Jam at 8:30 p.m. where the musicians and attendees are welcomed to jam together for 30 minutes.

Door prizes will be raffled off and food vendors will be on-site. Highlighted raffle items include a set of beer glasses donated by Olde Peninsula Brew Pub, a sweatshirt donated by the Spirit of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo-themed t-shirts, and CD’s from local artists.
