CNN says Michigan Is One of Ten Up and Coming Wine Regions
CNN's Wine and Travel section has named Michigan an up and coming wine region.
The whole world knows parts of France, Italy, even California's Napa Valley, but now CNN has spotlighted ten regions around the globe as up and coming wine regions, and one of them is Michigan.
In the piece, it says;
Akin to Sonoma Valley's landscape 20 years ago, Michigan wine country is bucolic and largely undeveloped, comprising just 100 or so small- to medium-sized wineries and just less than 3,000 acres of wine-producing vineyards.
Yet the new wines coming out of this highly undervalued region -- particularly those from the Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas -- are fantastic.
One specific winery mentioned is Chateau Grand Traverse, "turns out an award-winning dry gewurztraminer and delicate rieslings.".
