Battle Creek Announces Free Summer Events Line Up
Battle Creek Live! is back and they just dropped all the FREE events you and your family can enjoy this summer. Every year Battle Creek features family friendly events that draw in thousands of people annually. Let's take a look at all the sweet action they have for us this year from Battle Creek Enquirer:
- The Downtown Battle Creek farmers market opens May 2 and runs til Oct. 27th at Festival Market Square. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- May 11th at 5 p.m. sparks the return of Food Truck Fridays. This event takes place once a month at Festival Market Square and has food vendors, adult beverages and music by Feeding Grizzlies.
- The Post Band, a staple for summertime entertainment, will begin June 7 at Festival Market Square. The concerts begin at 7 p.m. on June 7, 14, 21 and 28, July 12 and 19. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring their own seating.
- Tribute concerts are the newest theme to the Vibe@5 this year. Friday nights will host a concert at Friendship Park and will feature the following cover bands: Toppermost (Beatles) July 6; Erika Scherry Country Band (Miranda Lambert) July 13; Tony Fields Trio (Motown music) July 20; Danny D (Rod Stewart) July 27; Teddy Petty & The Refugees (Tom Petty) Aug. 3; Night Moves (Bob Seger) Aug. 10.
- Movies in the Park this year will feature "Family Movies". All films start at dusk in Mill Race Park. Here are the movies that will be shown this year: “Despicable Me 3” on June 8; “Cars 3” on July 13, and “Emoji Movie” on Aug. 10.
