We all know Battle Creek is one of the most unique cities there is, especially in Michigan. That's why it's no surprise they've landed in as a top 20 finalist in the All American City awards by the National Civic League. Each city that made the finals represents the diversity of American communities, with cities ranging in all sizes.

The cities that made the finals are: Springdale, Ark.; Placentia, Calif.; Stockton, Calif.; Longmont, Colo.; Miami Beach, Fla.; Decatur, Ga.; Ann Arbor, Mich.; Battle Creek, Mich.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Charlotte, N.C.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Beaverton, Ore.; Allentown, Pa.; Columbia, S.C.; Kershaw County, S.C.; Mount Pleasant, S.C.; El Paso, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Pasco, Wash.; Tacoma, Wash.

Now we all know the obvious reasons why they could potentially go home with the win, but let's take a look at some of the non-obvious reasons and dive into what they really got working with:

1. Vegas Strip Gentlemens Club- I mean, this place has 4.6 out of 5 stars on Google search! They've got to be drawing people to come back with those reviews.
2. Rob Van Dam- Everybody knows where "The Whole -N Show" came from. Battle Creek, MI is home to one of the most iconic professional wrestlers and a personal favorite of mine. Former ECW TV, World & Tag Team Champion along with being a WWE Grand Slam Champion (held all titles possible during career).
3. Firekeepers CasinoOne of the hot spots of Battle Creek. Where else in town can you blow/win a bunch of money, eat some of the best food ever and watch a killer concert all in one place?
4.Crying Mary Statue-  Oak Hill Cemetery is the final resting place Sojourner Truth, the Kellogg brothers, C.W. Post. But it's also home to the infamous "Crying Mary" statue. Maybe her tears shed some sympathy to the judges. But we'll never know...
5. Battle Creek Had Its Own Cop Drama-  This had to be a selling point for a finals spot. A super edgy "Cop Drama" show, that was a little exaggerated. Such an original idea and amazing acting and storylines must have carried the judge's decision to include us. I mean, even though they didn't actually film here... but hey, it's nice to be thought of; I guess.
