I get a lot of email everyday. I'm glad I didn't skip the one from CBS's PR department today. Did you know Lance Barber, Sheldon's dad from "Young Sheldon" is from Pennfield? You probably wouldn't know by the accent. There it was in big bold letters: "Hometown: Battle Creek, MI". And then, further down it said Pennfield High School, Barn Theatre and Second City in Chicago (where he studied with improv and comedy legend, Del Close). Ok, I'm impressed.

Like many talented actors, he's been plugging away in small roles over the years, but it's an impressive list of shows and movies. Blackish, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Lisa Kudrow's The Comeback, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are just a few.

But it all started in Battle Creek, at Pennfield, with the Drama Club and, then later, the theatre program at Kellogg Community College.

Can I let you in on a little secret? In the back of my head, much like with Miami Dolphin head coach Adam Gase (who's from Marshall) and that Jeter kid from the west side, I can't help but think, when they were here, they probably listened, at least a little, to KFR and me. How cool is that?
