Yesterday I checked out the PFC Grocery & Deli on 507 Harrison St. in Kalamazoo to pick up some fresh produce. It was my first time there and the smell alone is gonna get me back. When I cashed out, the cashier asked if I'd like to round up. I had no idea what she was talking about.

Apparently when you purchase groceries there, you can participate in their "Change For Change" program which takes your total grocery bill, rounds it to the next dollar and all that money is not only donated to a predetermined recipient but the PFC will match your donation.

Every month the chosen community organization changes and last year alone I was told they raised over $44,000. This month the organization which will benefit is the Kalamazoo Youth Development Network. I highly recommend shopping at the PFC for  the simple fact that everything about their food is local and all profits benefit not only Kalamazoo, but groups within the community as well. I love being a part of a community that cares so much about its well-being.

You can learn more about the PFC and how you can be a part of the team here.
