One of the hidden gems of Allegan made a blunt and direct announcement on June 8th, 2021. Snowden Sunset Lanes in Allegan made the call that they've officially closed their doors for good. Any hopes of getting in a few more games was turned away, as management announced the closure was immediate. The family made the following announcement on their social media page:

So rumors can be stopped. We are officially closing. Thank you to all the bowlers that have supported us through the last 14 years. It has been an interesting venture to say the least. We just couldn't recover after being shut down for most of our season. Best wishes to all. From the Snowdens. Thank you.

Many of the people familiar with the bowling alley were shocked to hear this news:
Oh no! This really surprises me because there are so many times when I've passed by and you are all so busy. I guess this just goes to show how hard the pandemic hit our local businesses. -Whitney Ehresman-
Sad day for the community! The bowling lanes have been a solid entertainment venue for this entire community for so many years! -Mary Lee E Sutton-Henry-
One of the main questions being asked is how people in the league are supposed to get inside to empty their lockers, but an update stated that they will be posting times that someone will be at the lanes to allow bowlers to clean out their lockers on their Facebook page.
