Red Wings’ Lidstrom, Federov Selected To Hockey Hall of Fame
Red Wing legends Nicklas Lidstrom and Sergei Federov were named to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The announcement was made Monday afternoon.
Lidstrom is considered one of the best defensemen in NHL history; Federov, one of the best two way forwards to play the game.
The Red Wings' 2002 Stanley Cup team now has nine Hall of Famers: Igor Larionov, Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille, Chris Chelios, Brendan Shanahan, and Dominik Hasek, all have been elected in the past seven years. The 1972-73 Montreal Canadiens have the most from one team: 11.
