Police Remove Drunk Flight Attendant From Plane In South Bend, Indiana
A United Airlines flight attendant slurred her safety announcements and passed out before landing in South Bend.
On Friday, August 2nd a group of people flying from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to South Bend International Airport were entertained by a very intoxicated flight attendant. Well, maybe not entertained as much as frightened according to bnd.com,
When the plane landed, airport police officers and United Airlines employees boarded the airplane and met with the flight attendant, prosecutors say. A few of the passengers said they were “scared for their lives,” according to the arrest affidavit.
When police at South Bend International airport asked the flight attendant where she was, she answered “Chicago,” prosecutors said.
Not only did she not know what city she was in, there are reports that she slurred the safety announcements, had bloodshot eyes, kept dropping things, smelled like alcohol and couldn't stay awake. How could this happen? It might be what she had for breakfast according to bnd.com,
While on the way to jail, the flight attendant told an officer that she drank two vodka “shooters” before work that morning, according to the affidavit. A breath test later showed her blood-alcohol content level was .204, prosecutors said.
The 49-year-old woman was charged with public intoxication and could serve up to 6 months in jail. The company she worked for, Air Wisconsin, said she is "no longer an employee of the company."
