A Plainwell couple had their surprise ruined and privacy violated by the Meijer Photo Lab.  There are 2 shocking details about this story...

#1 Photo Lab employees would openly take screenshots of customer photos and share them.

#2 People still use photo labs.

The couple says that former classmates that now work at the Meijer Photo Lab distributed photos of their baby announcements to friends and family before they were able to make the announcement.

According to WWMT,

The couple says one of life’s most special moments was stolen from them after photo lab employees, former classmates, decided to circulate her baby announcement pictures.

“This is the screenshot that was sent to me of the photo that was taken before I had even showed anyone,” said Jordan Areaux when we first spoke to her.

The big news was broken to the families of Areaux and Masyn Iehl through gossipy texts, instead of with the special picture surprise they had planned.

“You don’t get to experience the exciting moment and everybody’s joy at that time because they already know, it’s already happened and you didn’t get to see it,” said Iehl.

The corporate office later contacted the couple to apologize and offered them a Meijer gift card.

Not only is this a disappointing response to what happened, I'm pretty sure laws were broken here.  I find it hard to believe photo lab employees didn't break a state or Federal law in this incident.
