Perfume scented alcohol is a strange vehicle air freshener.  Oh wait..

The strange things people will do to try to trick police when they've clearly broken the law never ceases to amaze me.  It doesn't help when you're coming up with a "clever" idea while intoxicated.

In mid July law enforcement pulled a woman over in Seven Hills, Ohio.  She was driving a Volvo, weaving from one lane to another and then hit the curb before the traffic stop.  Something smelled fishy immediately according to Cleveland.com,

While talking to the Brecksville woman, the officer smelled booze and a heavy odor of perfume. It appeared that the driver, who was slurring her words, had used the latter in an attempt to cover up the former.

It turns out, the overly perfumed Ohio woman was driving on a suspended license.  Sadly, this isn't her first time being pulled over for drunk driving.  A recent DUI conviction is the reason the suspect's drivers license was suspended.  After failing her field sobriety test for this DUI stop, she was arrested for drunk driving and driving without a license.

Attempting to cover up the smell of liquor by dousing yourself with perfume can be funny.  However, addiction is no laughing matter.
