Thanks to the nasty weather Michigan is experiencing, we may not be getting our mail

Snow and ice has made the delivery of mail extremely difficult for mail carries  and officials are concerned for their safety. According to The Detroit Free Press...

The U.S. Postal Service warned Monday that ZIP codes throughout Michigan might not get mail delivery as a result of extreme weather, including impassable roads and pathways to mailboxes.

It is not what we have known growing up about the postal service, you remember the saying...

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

At this point the official zip codes being effected are  include those starting with 486-491 and 493-499.

To help ensure that you mail may be on it's way maintain a clear path to the mailbox

  • steps
  • porches
  • walkways
  • street approach

Anyone else thinking about paying their bills ahead of time?
