A fireworks display anywhere over the Independence Day is great. But there's something a bit more magical when the display happens over Lake Michigan.

Here are 7 can't miss lakeshore displays for 4th of July along Michigan's coast from New Buffalo northward to Muskegon.

  • New Buffalo

    July 3

    Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 10:10.

  • St Joe

    July 4

    Fireworks in St Joe can be viewed from Sliver Beach, Tiscornia Park and the bluff and begin at 10:30.

  • South Haven

    July 3rd

    South Haven fireworks begin at dusk over South Beach.

  • Saugatuck

    July 4

    Saugutuck/Douglas fireworks begin at Dusk and are best seen over Kalamazoo Lake.

  • Holland

    July 4

    There are two displays in Holland. One, inland, over Lake Macatawa that begins at 10 and another at dusk at Holland State Park and shot over Lake Michigan.

  • Grand Haven

    July 4

    The Grand Haven fireworks begin at dusk from Waterfront Stadium where the Grand River meets Lake Michigan.

  • Muskegon

    July 4

    Muskegon Lake provides the backdrop to the downtown fireworks shot from Heritage Landing.
