Kalamazoo’s Art Hop Jumps Back into In-Person Events in April
Hooray for the return of (safe) in-person events!
Art Hop, a program from the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, is returning to an in-person event in April, as reported by WWMT News Channel 3.
On Friday, April 2nd from 6pm-8pm, all are welcome to attend this free, outdoor event. Booths will be located along Bates Alley and the South Kalamazoo Mall and will be socially distanced. Participating businesses include:
- Kalamazoo Candle Company
- Honor Credit Union
- Cherri's Chocol'art
And several others. You can see a full list here.
Those who attend will be welcome to snag a drink from one of the local bars or restaurants to enjoy while they browse as the Downtown Social District is still in place. As well, there will be live music by DJ Todd Brown.
Now, if you're interested in art but are still wary about the crowds, no worries! According to their website, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo will be featuring virtual interviews with the artists, a virtual gallery and more.
At this moment, the weather is forecasted to be a gorgeous 60 degrees with partly cloudy skies on April 2nd. We all know how quickly that can change but fingers crossed the forecast stays true.
Hopefully, with vaccines rolling out, people will start to feel safer in crowds and things like in-person events won't be so surprising or newsworthy anymore. With that being said, Art Hop is planning ahead for their May Art Hop. If you'd like to have your business involved you can fill out this application, find them online, or find them on Facebook.
