While Katie Timber has taken a few weeks off (she'll be back in studio next week) we still want to make sure we are doing our best to find these animals at the SPCA of SW Michigan their forever homes.

Today, for Dog Days, we're featuring Wheeler. He's a mixed breed, just over 3 years old, and just the most happy, playful pup! Katie was kind enough to send us a couple of videos. Just look at this happy boy!

And, like most dogs, Wheeler loves his treats:

Wheeler loves pets, is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. While he is a sweet boy, he does need a little leash training as he tends to pull. And, those adopting him should know that he is heartworm positive. You can read more about heartworm positive dogs here.

Wheeler is up to date on his shots, microchipped and desperate to find his forever home. Please remember, if you have other animals in the home the SPCA always recommends a meet and greet before proceeding with the adoption.

There are plenty of animals, both dogs and cats, looking for their forever home at the SPCA of SW Michigan. If Wheeler doesn't sound like the right fit for your family, but you still want to adopt, you can find all adoptable animals here.

As well, I know that not everyone is in a place where they can adopt a new animal. Personally, my space it too small and financially...I'm not in a place to take care of another animal. But, you can still help!

If you'd like to volunteer, the SPCA is always in need. Volunteer opportunities range from working the front desk to IT help to walking the dogs. Find the application and all information on volunteering here.

You can also donate. Whether monetarily or specifically requested items, anything and everything helps. The SPCA has a posted "Wish List" that you can see here. If you happen to be doing your weekly shopping and notice a BOGO deal on any of the following items, consider donating that freebie to the SPCA:

  • Dish soap
  • Clumping cat litter
  • Dog/Cat food
  • Paper towels
  • Hand sanitizer
  • All purpose antibacterial cleaner

And, as I always say, if the only thing you can do to help is to share Wheeler's story so he can find his forever home faster, we appreciate it!
