Yesterday was a little bit difficult of a day at 103.3 WKFR because of the storm that rolled through Kalamazoo Sunday night, our internet service was down and out until later in the day yesterday. Pretty much everything we do besides talking is done through the internet, most of which is behind the scenes stuff. It made it impossible to do the majority of the work I was prepared to do for the day, which made things very difficult.

Although the station internet was down, I reached out through our audience through my mobile device to see how everyone else was handling it:

All though it put a damper on our day, I noticed something. There was a group of 6 of us standing in a circle laughing at the fact our whole day was shot. We spoke for about ten minutes and laughed about things, talked about random nonsense, and made the best of a bad situation. Sure, if the internet had been working we would have all been busy doing our jobs, so it's not like it would have been alienating us.

But it showed me how real the world actually is when you eliminate the internet. Don't be afraid to talk to people and do what Facebook was intended for originally, networking and making real friends. The step outside the box was good yesterday. Now...back to work .
