Playing the lottery just paid off for a Houghton County lady

Well braving the nasty Michigan weather and taking care of some grocery shopping, a 39 year old woman decided to play the lottery. The gal purchased a $5.00 Michigan Lottery instant ticket at Louie's Super Value Foods in Lake Linden and won $10. She decided to roll the dice once again and won $500,000! Here the tale she told the Detroit Free Press...

"I scratched the ticket off when I got home and when my husband came into the room he asked if I was OK because I was white as a ghost," the woman, who chose to remain anonymous, told the Michigan Lottery. "I handed him the ticket and he almost ripped it in half because he thought it was a fake. We felt nauseous, thrilled, and then nauseous again!"

She claims that she would like to buy a new car and the rest will go into her savings account. What an incredible impulse purchase that will benefit her for the rest of her life. If only we could all be so lucky!
