Our Local Walmart Could Soon Offer Veterinary Services
Big things are happening for Walmart stores in the Lone Star State, and the customers' pets will be reaping the benefits. Walmart is expected to expand walk-in veterinary clinics to more store locations. Essentials PetCare announced this week that clinics will be headed to nine stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas, according to WXYZ. Walmart expects these locations to open by the end of the month or in early June.
Marilee McInnis, director for Walmart Corporate Affairs expressed her excitement for the new additions: “We are thrilled to be working with Essentials to expand veterinary care at Walmart stores. Pets play an important role in many people’s lives, and making sure families have easy access to high-quality, affordable veterinary care is in-line with helping our customers save money and live better, including their four-legged family members.”
This seems to be a growing trend the past decade with major shopping chains, allowing separate businesses to operate within the store. Would you consider bringing your pet into a Walmart vet if they were to decide bring this idea to Kalamazoo? Either way, here are some local places you can support in the meantime:
