Forget about the 'Yellow Brick Road' Follow the 'Rainbow Road'
Ferndale, Michigan is improving their road ways and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. The crosswalk at 9 mile road will be painted colors of the rainbow to continue allowing the city to flourish with positive energy and support of a growing city.
Through years Ferndale has become known as a place where you can be who you are. And makes the city pretty special.
Councilwoman Melanie Piana was the driving the force behind the colorful crosswalk.
The rainbow crosswalk represents Ferndale’s commitment to be a diverse and inclusive community. I always say 'Ferndale is a place where you can be who you are.
The paint job was supposed to take place this past Monday but due the rainy summer weather Michigan has been experiencing has put a hold on the paint job According to the Detroit Free Press takes 10-12 hours for the paint to dry, so the city is waiting till the next sunny Monday to paint pride all over their street!
