If you have any unused or outdated prescription meds sitting in your medicine cabinet, or worse, just sitting around your place, Saturday is the day to safely dispose of them.

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is this Saturday. the Michigan State Police's 30 posts are drop off point for this one-day ‘Take-Back’ effort from 10am to 2 pm. All collected pills will be destroyed, with no questions asked. However, liquids, inhalers, patches and syringes won't be accepted.

“Taking a few minutes to go through your home and discard these medications is something small that can have a huge impact,” said Col. Joe Gasper, director of the Michigan State Police. “The devastation caused by opioid and prescription drug abuse, accidental poisonings and overdoses is real. We urge you to do all you can to help us fight this crisis.” - Michigan State Police release

Part of this effort is in part to help battle the opioid addiction crisis.
