There was an active shooter warning on the University of Michigan campus Saturday in Ann Arbor.

Twitter was the tool that successfully sent out the warning and kept everyone updated Saturday according to the DailyCaller.com.  At 2:06 PM many were shocked by the following tweet from the official @UMich twitter account:

Half an hour later WWMT News Channel 3's  Andy Dominianni let us know it was a false alarm:

In today's climate, "better safe that sorry" is a phrase to live by.  Students clearly took the warning seriously as shown by this photo on the Michigan Daily twitter:

The University of Michigan gave their official all clear at 7:50 PM.  We're happy it was a false alarm and glad everyone is ok.
