The first ever police chase triggered by a flying flowerpot happened in Ohio recently.

Police were called to a home in Solon, Ohio at 2:15 A.M. on a recent Saturday morning.  A boy had thrown a flowerpot through the window a residence.  It turned out to be the home of his ex-girlfriend.  After breaking the window the 17-year-old boy jumped back in his car and took off at a very high speed which lead to a police chase according to Cleveland.com,

Police located the suspect’s car and gave chase. The suspect, a Solon boy, 17, eventually drove into his home’s driveway, got out of the car and ran.

I think we might be jumping to conclusions here.  We're all assuming that he had an intention to vandalize the home where his ex-girlfriend was staying.  What if he was trying to romantic?  Maybe he got her a flowerpot full of flowers and he meant to throw a pebble at the window and just got confused because it was so late at night.  Maybe he planned on going full "Say Anything" and hold up a boom box playing a love ballad by Peter Gabriel.  Or...maybe he was really angry with his ex.  Drugs and alcohol maybe another possibility.

Law enforcement suspect that he may have been under the influence of psychedelic mushrooms.  They took the teen to a local hospital for testing and his safety.
