Michigan's biggest comic con hits a milestone this year as the Motor City Comic Con turns 30.   The annual event is set to be the biggest ever this May.

According to the story from M-Live,  the annual event turns 30 and will take place in Novi on May 17th thru 19th.

Each year the event takes over the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi and features merchandise, comic book writers and artist, actors from TV and Film and much more.

This year the event is set to take advantage of the full location to help celebrate their anniversary along with contest and more announcements to be made at a later date.

I personally have not had the chance to visit any of the recent shows but I did get to attend one about 20 years ago.   I was lucky enough to be friends with a vendor who got me in for a reduced fee.

I remember having the chance to meet Peter Mayhew and David Prowse.   They are known to the world as the actors who played Chewbacca and Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise.

I also remember members of GWAR running around the building hitting each other promoting their comic.   They also had a cool setup to promote the film version of "Spawn".

I am sure much has changed since the time I went. Cosplay has become a big part of this event and I don't remember that being as big then as it is now.

Tickets are on sale now for this year's event. If you want more details, as well as to keep up on who will be on hand for the event this year, you can check out the comic con site here.
