Downtown Kalamazoo will continue to see changes to its landscape as another development is set to go. MLive reports that a parking lot near the corner of Rose and Lovell Streets will be the site of a four story building with 135 apartment units along with offices and retail space in Kalamazoo.

The Kalamazoo City Commission agreed to sell the lot on Monday for $1.1 million to two entities owned by The Hinman Company and AVB Inc.. They plan to build the structure for $24.2 million on the over two acre site. Construction is expected to begin in the fall and be completed sometime in 2019.

This project joins two others that are reshaping the skyline in downtown Kalamazoo. The 15-story Kalamazoo Exchange Building is in mid-construction along Michigan Ave at Rose Street and a 7 story mixed use structure across from the Arcadia Creek Festival site is also in the works.
