Just when the smoke from their red-hot bankruptcy started to dissipate, Claire's, the tween girl mall staple, is making headlines, once again, this time for their line of cosmetics. According to an article from CNN, the FDA has issued a safety alert on Claire's Eye Shadows, Compact Powder, and Contour Pallette. In response, the chain has pulled the products from store shelves, but those who may have any of these three products on their own shelves are urged to discontinue use. But is it asbestos? The company is disputing the findings, saying, quote:

The recent test results the FDA have shared with us show significant errors. Specifically, the FDA test reports have mischaracterized fibers in the products as asbestos, in direct contradiction to established EPA and USP criterion for classifying asbestos fibers. Despite our efforts to discuss these issues with the FDA, they insisted on moving forward with their release."

The Claire's location in Crossroads Mall in Portage survived getting the ax following the company's bankruptcy announcement in May of last year. Will the chain survive this scandal?
