The Michigan Secretary of State's office has cut a deal to where select Meijer stores will have license plate tab and registration renewal self-service stations. Those self service stations should start appearing in a matter of weeks.

Initially, there will be twenty-eight stores around the state with the kiosks. Two of those will be in Battle Creek along with the Westnedge store in Portage and the Kalamazoo West Main store. You won't even need to have your renewal packet with you to renew your registration at a self-service station. The Secretary of State's office says "eligible vehicles can be renewed with only the plate number and the last four digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)."

“Meijer stores are a favorite shopping spot for many Michiganders, and now many of them will also be a place where you can complete Secretary of State transactions, such as renewing your tabs,” Benson said. “We’re very pleased to partner with Meijer to bring this convenience to our mutual customers.” - Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.
