'Lake Effect' dispensary has finally received their license from the state and has reopened their doors.

'Lake Effect' dispensary had been operating in Portage years before they had to close their doors to patients while they wait for the license from the State.  Finally their License form the State of Michigan has arrived, and they can open their doors once again.

The business 'Lake Effect', received a license from the Michigan Medical Marijuana Licensing Board in March,' General Manager Jevin Weyenberg told Mlive..

It’s a big relief to be open and we’re ecstatic," he said. “We’re most of all happy that the health and wellness in our community is going to tick up a notch. We look forward to helping moving this industry along in any we can.

The dispensary has been shut down since September and the dispensary used their time wisely with a 400,000 expansive project . The business did a lot of remodeling including expandeding their waiting room, a private consultation room, and 5 stations where a patient can have a private conversation with the staff. Not to mention their upgrade to their fire safety system.

General Manager Jevin Weyenberg explains the mission of the dispensary...

Lake Effect tries to promote education and political awareness, as a resource about dosing and symptom management, and other cannabis information, because patients don’t find it at more traditional outlets. Dignified access to medicine is why we started.

You can find 'Lake Effect' at 8314 Portage Road.
