Kalamazoo Man Charged In A Prostitution Ring Only Gets Probation
Joseph Quincy Lee III was sentenced to only 4 years probation, pay fines and court costs for being charged in a prostitution ring.
Yet, the story goes deeper, originally, he was charged with human trafficking. According to Mlive.com human trafficking is...
"A felony, transporting a person for the purpose of prostitution, a felony and engaging the services of a prostitute, a misdemeanor."
The charges for human trafficking were dismissed on June 2016 due to a plea deal Lee made with prosecutors. Mlive.com reported that Lee plead guilty to...
"Tampering with an electronic monitoring device and being a habitual offender. In exchange, the transporting and engaging services of a prostitute charges were dropped."
This seems OUTRAGEOUS! Lee was arrested during a sting operation that occurred because people were reporting that women were being forced into prostitution in exchange for narcotics.
Mlive.com reported that...
"During this operation, four women, ages 23-30, admitted to being drug users and said that drugs led to them being forced into the sex trade, authorities said."
I wonder how the courts could allow this man to go free with a slap on the wrist for the lives he has hurt. So please beware that Joseph Quincy Lee III is out.
