A story recently broke out about a young man who was shot in the neck at a gas station near the University of Louisville.

Unfortunately, the man who was shot is Tyler Bright, who is a native of Kalamazoo and a former broadcast intern for the Battle Creek Battle Jacks.

The Kalamazoo Growlers and the Battle Creek Battle Jacks partnered together to release a statement about the shooting and his current situation:

Tyler was a broadcast intern for the Battle Creek Battle Jacks in '23 & '24 (current Growlers management & ownership were working for the Battle Jacks at this time). Tyler was shot in the neck in his car at a gas station on January 11 near the University of Louisville and is in critical condition. The drive-by shooting put him in the ICU and he has limited movement in his legs. He was just weeks away from moving to Iowa to take a radio job in the state of Iowa.

You can contribute to Tyler's GoFundMe account here, as his parent, who work and live in Michigan, are still displaced while traveling to be with their son.

Growlers' management, who worked with him, describe him as always hard-working and dedicated to becoming a professional in every aspect.

It's awful when you see anyone go through something like this, and the fact that this whole crime was senseless, and he was an innocent victim, makes this whole story even worse.

Our collective thoughts and well-wishes are with the Bright family, and hopefully, Tyler can bounce back from this terrible situation.
