Kalamazoo had representation in one of the funnest games that’s played all year, the 2026 puppy bowl, as the SPCA of Southwest Michigan was excited to have their puppy Dan, named after Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell, provide his services to team rough in Puppy Bowl 22.

But the biggest surprise after watching him being introduced into the field was the fact that he ended up making a big impact in the game. Dan, the puppy, actually scored a touchdown for Team Ruff in one of the biggest moments of the young puppy's life.

Unfortunately, because of a dramatic final play with no time left on the clock, Team Fluff was able to make a triumphant comeback, as their player, Twilight, was able to maintain possession of a goal-line touchdown that she almost fumbled.

So, unfortunately, although Dan was able to help his team along the way, Team Fluff took the victory.

When we spoke to Dan last week, he told us that Dan would make a big splash in the game, but who would have thought he would be one of the pups to score a touchdown? Ultimately, every pup was a winner, as all of the featured puppies now have a forever home, thanks to the work of Animal Planet and all the shelters and people associated with the Puppy Bowl.
