The Michigan Department of Transportation says it will begin repaving a 15 mile stretch of Interstate 94 east of Kalamazoo beginning on Monday, and extending into May of 2017.

But before you start muttering under your breath, the project will be done at night and will break for the winter and resume in April of next year to finish up.

PROJECT:

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be repaving 15 miles of I-94 between Sprinkle Road Exit 80 and 40th Street Exit 88 in Kalamazoo County.
Work on this $5.8 million investment will stop in mid-November for the winter, with construction expected to resume in mid-April 2017.

 

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
There will be nighttime single-lane closures throughout construction: 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday; 8 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday; and 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.
