Check Out Battle Creeks Hidden Gem Of A Restaurant
Lines are out the door at this amazing West Michigan restaurant.
After a great afternoon in Battle Creek, a friend recommended the restaurant 'Umami Ramen'...and WOW!!!!!!!! The place is small but the food is HUGE! It is hard to explain the level of flavors and quality (freshness) of ingredients put into every serving. Owner Peecoon Allen (who you will meet when you stop by because she is preparing your food), explains her talents and food best on the restaurants web-site, umamivamenbc.com ...
"Umami Ramen is the brainchild of our chief creator, Peecoon Allen. Born in Thailand, Peecoon grew up like many little girls in her village expecting to take part in the cooking process for the family. "That meant I had to do things like pick herbs from the garden, pounding peppers into a paste, cleaning vegetables or bringing water from the well My mother taught me a lot about cross culture cooking. She cooked from taste, sight and instinct". Umami Ramen is the result of this traditional, fundamental way of cooking. We welcome everyone to try our deliciousness."
This place is amazing! Food incredible, prices low and a welcoming atmosphere! You will not be disappointed!

Excellent ramen and many other soup choices! Great staff which is very helpful and friendly. You can tell it's all handmade with care. A must try of you're in the area.

*Brisket Ramen with Tonkotsu Broth with added pickled egg: The broth itself was pretty well-developed - you can tell some TLC went in it. I added a chili sauce that made my ramen a little bit tangy but I liked it. The brisket was perfect - very tender. I also liked that the pickled egg broke up some of the richness. It was a pretty big portion - couldn't finish all the noodles in it but you best believe I slurped up all the broth!

By far one if the best spots to eat in Battle Creek! Fun and friendly staff are very welcoming and the food is amazing. Sure, catch them during a lunch rush and you might have to wait a few minutes, but this food is worth the wait!
What are you waiting for?!? This is a MUST taste! See you there!
