An 18-year-old Battle Creek man will stand trial in the shooting death of another man at Claude Evans Park in October.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports that Davion Brown will face an 1st-degree murder and use of a firearm in a felony charges in the death of Khari Davis October 9th.

The case was ordered to trial after it was ruled that prosecutors provided enough evidence in the case. Battle Creek Police investigators say that Davis sustained two gunshot wounds to the head while sitting in a van at the recreational park. He was taken to Bronson-Battle Creek where he later died.

Brown faces life in prison if convicted. A trial date has not been announced. He remains behind bars without bond.
