The community is still reeling from the announcement made this week about Allegan cancelling their county fair for the 2020 season. But not all things have to be horrible this year. They also just announced that their Riverfront Zipline is open. Their event website describes the experience to be like none other:

Grab a group of your adrenaline-loving pals and prepare to check this experience off your bucket list. Defy your fears by climbing the staircase to the 45 foot high platform, then step off and soar through the open air on our 600-foot outdoor zip lines spanning the Kalamazoo River. Once you get to the other side, relax and prepare for your return flight back!

The riverfront zip line is located outdoors on the Riverfront Plaza in downtown Allegan, Michigan. Walk-up hours are May through September but private and group bookings are available all year round. There's multiple packages which includes the Zip Event Combo for $27 which comes with the zipline experience then a free-fall exit off the zipline. For just the zipline experience it's $20 and for the free-fall experience alone it's $10. All ages are welcome to enjoy the zipline and the experience lasts about 15-20 minutes per person.

The Allegan Event outdoor riverfront zip line is open rain or shine, but sometimes will close due to severe weather. The minimum weight to ride is 60 lbs and the maximum weight 250 lbs. Looks like I'm gonna have to eat air for dinner for a couple days prior to going. It's no county fair, but it'll at least give you a great view of Allegan.
