A Marshall native opens her own children's thrift shop and starts up Art in the Park.

Nicole Rhoades grew up in Marshall and had a vision of opening up a children's thrift shop. She was a single mother for 8 years and knew how expensive it could be to provide things for her kids. She then decided to open Sweet Pea Children's Thrift Shoppe. They buy and sell gently used children's items. Cash or store credit up front for things they accept. For more info please click the link above.

Every Thursday starting in June, Nicole has organized Arts 'N' Crafts At The Park. It runs from 5-8pm rain or shine and is located at Carver Park on Michigan Avenue in downtown Marshall. There's food, music, and of course arts and crafts vendors. If you are a crafter, artist, musician, caterer etc. and are interested in a 10x10 booth for an $8.00 donation this is for you! You can contact either Nicole or Jeff Rhoades by email at jcharxed1@att.net or call 269-339-8468.

Just goes to show with a dream and determination you really can do anything!
