This firefighter was in the right place at the right time and saved the life of a young boy on Cleveland's West side.

Bill Mandich is an Orange Village firefighter and Lieutenant in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.  He just happened to be attending a birthday party when he heard screams coming from a nearby pool.  Bill jumped into action and found a very scary scene according to WKYC,

The 3-year-old boy was face down in the pool and was presenting with cyanotic (purple) facial skin and grey lips according to the Orange Village Fire Department. The situation was serious, life-threatening and time was not on Mandich's side.

The young boy was in cardiac arrest in the pool.  Mandich performed CPR as someone else called 911.  When the paramedics arrived, Mandich ran the young boy, who was now breathing, to the end of the driveway.  We are happy to report that thanks to the fast action and skills of firefighter and paramedic Bill Mandich, the little guy is doing great.
