5 Best Ice Creams To Mend A Broken Heart
I was just reading that on this day, back in 2009, 'Ben And Jerry's' ice cream changed the name of my FAVORITE ice cram "Chubby Hubby" to "Hubby Hubby" in celebration of Vermont changing their laws to allow gay marriage (which is awesome).
Then I got to thinking....with so many young loves headed off to college and will be separated, what is the BEST ice cream to drowned you sorrows in?
Here is my top 5 list, feel free to let me know what your favorites are,I may need it in the future (if I ever find a date)!
#5 Straight up Vanilla with 'Sanders' hot fudge! Seriously, if you are from Michigan, it does not get better then that, unless you have a slice of "bumpy cake" to go along with it!
#4 'Ray's' strawberry ice cream. Located in Royal Oak Michigan, they make the ice cream with fresh strawberries, it will blow your mind!
#3 'Bryer's' Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream with a side of Cheetos . Now, I know that may sound gross, but here is where comfort food really comes into play. From the age of 12 my 2 best friends and I would have sleep overs, and some how there was always Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, Cheetos (the originals) and Pepsi involved. We are still all best friends but live in different parts of the country. So if I am down about life, I pick up the phone, bust out the Mint Chocolate Chip with Cheetos and find myself in a happier state of mind.
#2 A Dairy Cream Buster Bar! Classic! I remember going to Dairy Cream after a little legal soft ball game win; it was the best, and still is!
And Finally my #1 pick of the best ice cream to mend a broken heart.....
You guessed it 'Ben and Jerry's" Chubby Hubby! Try it and you will not question my decision! It is "Vanilla malt ice cream with peanutty fudge covered pretzels with fudge and peanut buttery swirls".
So if you are feeling homesick or longing for your high school sweetheart you left behind, have a dose of ice cream, you will be surprised how comforting it can be.
(Oh, and P.S. the Freshman 15 is real, you have been warned)
