This 5 Bedroom Kzoo Home is Less Than $200k. What’s the Catch?
In this market, when I see a large home for a reasonable price I'm immediately suspicious. What's the catch? Is it haunted? Is the foundation falling apart? Perhaps it's an unreasonable response from someone who isn't even in the market to buy a home. Regardless, when I found this listing I thought, for sure, there would be some sort of flaw.
On Zillow, while browsing homes I can't afford as always, I found a 5 bedroom, 3 bath house listed for a mere $179,000. Considering I've been seeing 3 bedroom homes for close to $300,000 this was a surprising find.
The home is listed by Greg Miller at Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices Michigan Real Estate. You can find them online or call 269-344-8599.
The home includes:
- 5 bedrooms
- 3 full bathrooms
- Full basement
- Natural gas for heating
You can see all the included features here.
The home is located on a corner lot in the Westwood neighborhood and is said to be close to downtown Kalamazoo, shopping and schools.
So, why is it so "cheap"? Personally, I don't see anything wrong in the pictures. The home has a spacious backyard too. The only thing I noticed that might drive the price of the home down is the fact that there's no central air. There are ceiling fans in the home but in 90 degree weather...I'm not sure how effective those fans would be.
Other than that...I'm stumped! See if you can spot anything that would make this huge home so affordable (clearly, I'm still suspicious):
