Can You Tackle Saugatuck's Mount Bald Head Challenge

There are 302 steps to the summit of Mount Baldhead in Saugatuck. Can you make the climb?

While the official Mt Baldhead Challenge is a 5k and 15k race with the 15k forcing you up and over Mt Baldhead. I took the easy way out and only climbed the stairs. My time, 3 minutes and 20 seconds.

There's still time left this summer to head up the 600-foot stair of sand and sweat. While you're there, head out to Oval Beach, where the trail at the top of the stairs leads to, and enjoy Lake Michigan. Oval Beach also has some nice restrooms, showers and a small concession stand with ice cream.
