Now this is what I call a science fiction double feature. The Getty Drive-In in Muskegon, Michigan will be hosting a double showing happening only this Friday, September 25th at 8 p.m. The cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show will be shown at 8:30 p.m. immediately followed by another Tim Curry classic, Clue, based on the board game. RockyHorror.com made the announcement recently and this so far is the only Michigan viewing date:

Movie theaters across America have been almost entirely empty since mid-march in accordance with coronavirus restrictions. Traditional audience participation filled screenings of Rocky Horror had to be put on pause. With fans looking for an outlet to celebrate their love of the 1975 audience participation spectacular, the drive-in provides a safe and effective venue. As more and more drive-ins pop up in recent times, Rocky Horror seems like a natural fit.

Over 30 venues have signed up to show the film on the weekend of September 26th (45 years to the day of the US premiere screening). If a venue near you is interested in taking part please have them reach out to their booking agent.

Tickets to the double feature can be purchased here for $5 a person. Talk about Drive-In prices. 1 ticket per person required. If purchasing for people in separate cars, all cars must arrive together. Children 5 and under are free. September 25th, 2020 celebrates the 45th anniversary of the US premiere screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, so drive-in theatres across the country will be showing the queen of cult classic movies.
