The Prepare Fair will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, in the Target store parking lot located at 5700 Beckley Road. Individuals attending the fair will learn the simple ways to prepare for an emergency or disaster, including how to develop a family emergency plan and how to create an emergency supply kit.

“The Prepare Fair is a great opportunity to meet local emergency responders and learn about the importance of being ready for all types of emergencies and disasters,” said Capt. Chris A. Kelenske, commander of the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division. “The fifth anniversary of the Talmadge Creek and Kalamazoo River Oil Spill reminds us that disasters can happen at any time, to anyone and underscores the importance of having an emergency plan with an emergency supply kit.”
