Kalamazoo Woman Arrested In Relation To String of Bank Holdups
A 51 year old Kalamazoo woman has been arrested in relation to a string of Kalamazoo area bank robberies, the most recent of which was a week ago at 5/3 Bank at 4109 Portage Rd.
In a release today, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety announced that 51 year old Earlisa Johnson of Kalamazoo was arrested on Sept. 11, 2019, and charged with bank robbery. Johnson was located in the 3900 block of South Westnedge at approximately 7:30 pm and was taken into custody without incident.
KDPS and the FBI have been conducting a joint investigation into a series of bank robberies that began in May, and this resulted in an arrest warrant being issued Wednesday.
KDPS says Johnson is a suspect in those robberies and was arraigned on Thursday. She is being held on $100,000 bond and is in custody at the Kalamazoo County Jail awaiting court proceedings.
