Yep, we can basically ball up this whole year and throw it in the trash. Between Kalamazoo Ribfest, Kalamazoo Pride & the Do-Dah Parade all being cancelled for the year, it was only a matter of time until Kalamazoo Irish Fest would be shut down for the year. For the last 4 years, the event has taken place at Old Dog and was excited to celebrate it's fifth year at the local establishment in style.

Sadly because of the state of the world, they've been forced to shut it down for the year. Originally intended to go down June 19th and June 20th, this was going to be the 20th anniversary celebration. The planning committee for Kalamazoo Irish Fest is excitd to announce that they fully plan on celebrating the 20th anniversary on June 18th and June 19th of 2021 at Old Dog, according to their press release.

Many people are upset that the logical decision was made, including regular Irish fest patron, Chas French who said:

So sorry to hear this. The Kalamazoo Irish Fest is a great tradition that many, many hard working individuals put in countless hours in preparing. You guys will survive and thrive in 2021!

Irish Fest has been a staple event in the Kalamazoo community since 2001 and they're fully looking forward to returning for the 20th anniversary next year. Until things get better and positive cases start to go down, you can continue to expect seeing more and more events being cancelled this year. Erin go Bragh.
