If you've ever been to Harvest Moon Acres in Gobles, you know of all the fun Fall activities they host on weekends, but is there something more sinister, perhaps, unearthly happening on the grounds of their farm? Multiple people have reported seeing black cats walk by, disappear, then almost right after another black cat will come out of nowhere. This is a weird phenomena that was experienced recently by a woman, Joanne in Kalamazoo, who said the cats kept re-appearing then disappearing as she was talking to the owner.

The fact that this is happening so close to Halloween makes it even eerier. But it seems like there could be some kind of spirit watching over, perhaps protecting the farm. If you look up the history of Black Cats, most cultures say they're nothing but bad luck, specifically being suspected of being the familiars of witches, or actually shape-shifting witches themselves.  However, black cats are seen a s a positive figure in some cultures. The Wiki on them explains:

Most of Europe considers the black cat a symbol of bad luck, particularly if one walks across the path in front of a person, which is believed to be an omen of misfortune and death. In Germany, some believe that black cats crossing a person's path from right to left, is a bad omen, but from left to right, the cat is granting favorable times.

To be honest though, there's really no need to be afraid of black cats or Harvest Moon Acres. The farm is a safe, family friendly place and so far none of the cats have acted any other way than like normal barn cats, but it is interesting to think about. I'm gonna follow up with the owner and find out how many times this has happened. Have you ever experienced this? Let us know.
