Indiana Man Takes Car Salesman on 100 MPH Test Drive Before Fiery Crash
A 29-year-old is facing multiple felonies after he allegedly took a car salesman on an unwanted joyride that ended in a dangerous crash.
Car salesman is probably not among the top 100 most dangerous jobs in the United States. It's probably not even close to the top 100. That's because what happened Wednesday afternoon in Hobart, Indiana is very rare.
Reports say that LeDarien Devontae Deshon Gregory took a 2009 Kia Borrego for a test drive from Bosco Family Motors. A salesman from the dealership accompanied him on the drive. Things seemed to get dangerous fast, as the car salesman called 9-1-1 from the passenger seat. He told 9-1-1 that he was being held in the SUV against his will. Gregory was allegedly driving at speeds up to 100 MPH according to WANE.com,
The driver was reported to be driving at a high rate of speed and refused to pull over to let the victim get out of the SUV, the caller told dispatch. The Kia had been taken for a test drive with the salesperson from Bosco Family Motors, located in Hobart.

While traveling at a dangerous speed, the stolen Kia SUV slammed into the back of a semi-trailer on the toll road near mile marker 10. The car quickly caught fire. Both the suspect and the victim were trapped in the burning car. After Good Samaritans pulled the two out of the car, the driver attempted to walk away from the scene of the crash.
The victim and suspect were both taken to the hospital. The suspect has since been transferred to jail. The suspect is apparently currently in the hospital being treated for serious injuries. That person's identity and condition has not been made public at this time.
LeDarien Devontae Deshon Gregory is now facing 2 Felony kidnapping charges, in addition to Felony charges for auto theft and identity deception. He was also operating a vehicle without ever having a drivers license. That's a misdemeanor.
