The list of cities in Michigan who have done away with Columbus Day continues to get bigger, as Southfield has officially ended the Columbus Day celebration, according to Freep. So far, the Michigan cities that have done away with the holiday are Detroit, Ferndale, Southfield, Alpena, Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Traverse City and Ypsilanti; and more could soon follow.
